GrubHub

GrubHub is a food delivery service. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, I was inspired to create a GrubHub campaign that encouraged hopefulness, togetherness, and community through food. The #Let’sGiveBack campaign is an effort toward reducing food insecurity by donating a meal for every GrubHub purchase.

Thinking

I used this project as an opportunity to imagine an optimistic and united effort toward good when many were struggling, fearful, and discouraged throughout 2020. This campaign would benefit people experiencing hunger and help local restaurants stay afloat during the lockdown. Its cheerful tone and imagery were designed to inspire hope and happiness in the most difficult of times.

Illustration

Due to the nature of the pandemic, it felt right to focus the visuals on illustration as in-person meetings were not permitted. Photographing a campaign was rare at the time. The illustration style is bubbly in both form and attitude. Cute, bouncy characters and vibrant colors give viewers a look into a vibrant, aspirational world where the only contagion is a smile.
